Abstract

This work studied the seating discrepancies created during the cementation of relivied complete metal crowns (30μm). Between the factors that interfered in the seating, were evaluated three axiall convergences 6º, 10º and 20º; three finishing lines: 135 degree shoulder, chamfer and 90 degree shoulder with a 45 degree bevel; and two zinc phosphate cements, S. S. White and Lee Smith. Stainless steel die castings were fabricated resembling the prepared teeth and copings resembling the complete metal crowns. The copings were seated on the die castings and the measurements were made in a Horizontal Metroscope, where the discrepancies without cement (L0) and with cement (L1) were determined. It was performed 10 measurements for each set. After the statistical analyses (ANOVA) and Tukey test, it was concluded that: no statistical difference were observed between 10º and 20º tapers in relation to seating discrepancies, but there was statistical difference between these two tapers and 6º taper, with significance of 5%. The finishing lines were the smallest factor that influenced in the final crowns seating.
