Abstract

Sixty-four newly erupted human bicuspid were used in this in vitro study. Four different pit and fissure cleaning procedures were accomplished before acid conditioning followed by the application of photo cured or chemical cured sealants. Ground sections were analysed underpolarized light. Results indicated that both sealants showed similar behaviour at the middle and lower portions of pits and fissures; the chemical cured sealant showed longer tags. Among the different cleaning procedures prophylaxis was the method of choice.
