Abstract

A clinical evaluation of 40 cases of free-end extension lower partial dentures revealed a complete absence of hipertrophy or inflammation at lingual region of abutment teeth. This may be achieved by increasing the distance between the minor connectors (vertical stabilizers) and byplacing the occlusal rest at distal rather than the mesial side of occlusal surface of the support tooth.

Keywords

Occlusal rests, free-end partial dentures, major and minor conectors
