Resumo
As bases das próteses parciais removíveis de classes I e II de Kennedy necessitam de uma readaptação ao rebordo alveolar, após algum tempo. A desadaptação ocorre pela reabsorção do rebordo e compressão da mucosa alveolares, e pode ser avaliada clinicamente pela sua movimentação, provocada pelo profissional. No presente trabalho, embora tenha ocorrido diferença em massa do material empregado para localizar a desadaptação após um ano de uso, clinicamente foi constatada a necessidade de reembasamento em um tempo mais elástico.

Abstract
The bases of free-end extention removable partial dentures need to be reilned after a period of use. ln general, this is due to the alveolar bone resorption and alveolar mucosa compression under the bases. The needs for relining maybe evaluated by pressing down the bases. ln this study, although ocurred a difference in weight of the material employed to verify the needs and location of relining, was possible to postpone this procedure.
