Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the mechanical properties of four dual-cured resin cements: two conventional (Enforce F, Dentsply and RelyX ARC, 3M ESPE) and two self-etching (RelyX Unicem, 3M ESPE and Maxcem, Kerr). Properties analyzed were compressive, diametral tensile and flexural strength. The compressive and diametral tensile strength were accomplished according to the method described in the specification nº 96/1994-ADA. The flexural strength test was based on specification nº 4049/2000-ISO. The results were analyzed by ANOVA and Tukey’s Test (p < 0.05). There was no significant difference in diametral tensile strength among the four cements tested. For compressive and flexural strength, RelyX ARC (3M ESPE) was similar to Enforce F (Dentsply) and superior to the self-etching resin cements.
