Abstract

At this moment, there are several methods for the detection of periodontopathic bacteria. The laboratorial tests are complementary to the periodontal clinic examination, they can be an aid in the periodontics diagnostic and treatment decisions. The purpose of the authors is to present the principal tests used in the laboratorial diagnosis of the periodontal infections.
