Abstract
O presente trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar o conhecimento relacionado à saúde bucal de professores de ensino fundamental de escolas particulares da cidade de Araraquara. O instrumento de análise baseou-se em um questionário composto de questões fechadas e abertas, relativas à etiologia, prevenção e evolução da cárie dental e doença periodontal e fonte de informações sobre saúde bucal. Concluiu-se que o conhecimento odontológico apresentou limitações, sugerindo a necessidade da elaboração de programas educativos direcionados a essa população.

Resumo
The present study had the objective of evaluate the knowledge related to oral health of elementary schoolteachers of privative schools in Araraquara city, in Brazil. The analysis was based on a questionaire, composed of closed and open questions, concerning etiology, prevention and evolution of dental carie and periodontal disease and source of informations about oral health. It was concluded that, the Dentistry knowledgement of the studied population had presented limitations, suggesting the necessity of establishing educative programs directed at this especific population.
