No presente trabalho estudou-se a prevalência de anodontias de segundos pré-molares e incisivos laterais superiores e inferiores, numa amostra de 503 radiografias panorâmicas de indivíduos leucodermas brasileiros, na faixa etária entre 2 a 15 anos de idade. Os resultados obtidos foram analisados e confrontados com os de pesquisas semelhantes da literatura. A ordem decrescente da freqüência de anodontias encontrada foi: segundos pré-molares superiores (1,39%), segundos pré-molares inferiores (0,99%), incisivos laterais superiores (0,89%) e incisivos laterais inferiores (0,39%). A diferença de anodontias encontrada entre os sexos não foi estatisticamente significante. Encontrou-se maior número de anodontias na maxila do que na mandíbula.

The present study evaluated the prevalence of congenitally missing maxillary and man dibular lateral incisors and second premolars, in a sample of 503 panoramic radiographies of patients between the ages of 2 and 15 years old, from the files of São José dos Campos – UNESP – School of Dentistry. The results were analized and discussed with others works or researches of the literature. The most frequently miss ing teeth were the maxillary second pre molars, mandibular second premolars, maxillary lateral incisors and mandibular lateral incisors, in that order.
