Estudo da neoformação óssea basal da mandíbula de 40 ratos após pre paro de um defeito ósseo obtido com fresa cilindro-cônica e preenchimento do leito ósseo de 20 ratos do grupo experimental com poliuretano vegetal sem CaCO3. Os demais 20 ratos, representando o grupo controle, não receberam nenhum tratamento. Decorridos 15, 25, 40 e 60 dias após a cirurgia, os animais foram sacrifica dos e suas mandíbulas removidas e coradas com hematoxilina e eosina para o estudo morfológico sob microscopia óptica comum. Os resultados demonstram grande aceitação orgânica à resina, não ocorrendo formação de cápsula, tampouco migração local de células inflamatórias.

It was analysed the bone neoformation in mandible basal region after a bony defect made with a cylinder-conic drill and filled with vegetable polyurethane resin without CaCO3. The animals were killed 15, 25, 40 or 60 days after the surgery and the man dibles processed for histological analysis; the sections were stained by hematoxylin-eosin method and analysed under light microscopy. The results showed a good organic acceptance of the resin once that does not occur either capsule formation or inflammatory cells local migration. Based on our results we con cluded that the vegeta ble resin seems to be biocompatible not causing deleterious effects to the organism, and not inducing either capsule formation or the appearence of inflammatory cells
