Resumo
A tentativa de padronização de desenho das estruturas metálicas para as próteses parciais removíveis tem sido uma constante. É interessante que haja um padrão a seguir, respeitando-se, porém, as particularidades do caso. As barras palatinas anteriores são largamente empregadas nos casos de desdentados parciais superiores, mas, na maioria deles, provocam reações da mucosa palatina. Apresentamos neste trabalho algumas alternativas para a solução destes problemas.

Abstract
The tentative of padronization has been a constant in designing of the metal framework for removable partial dentures. Particularity of each case must be considered. The anterior palatal bars are probably the most common of them, but in many cases present palatal mucosa reactions to this design. Some alternatives to solve these problems are presented.
