Abstract
A SEM study was made to test the conditions of the bristles of six different types of toothbrushes made in Brasil. They were either brand-new or used by patients with or without supragingival calculus. Just one kind of the toothbrushes fitted into the specifications as concerned to the roundishness of bristle points. All the toothbrushes used by patients with calculus showed their bristles entirely spoiled.
