Resumo
O remanescente do ligamento periodontal cementário desvitalizado foi removido e o conduto e superfície radicular tratados com pasta e solução saturada de hidróxido de cálcio, respectivamente. O propósito foi de analisar a importância desses remanescentes em reimplantes dentais em ratos. Concluíram que a superfície radicular sem ou com os remanescentes do ligamento periodontal cementário, tratada com solução saturada de hidróxido de cálcio, não foi capaz de diminuir ou impedir a reabsorção radicular inflamatória, de superfície e anquilose alvéolo-dental. A preservação dos remanescentes do ligamento periodontal cementário induz reabsorção radicular do tipo inflamatória de forma mais intensa do que nos grupos em que se removeu esses remanescentes. Nesta última circunstância observa-se rápida osteogênese do espaço do ligamento periodontal com formação de anquilose alvéolo-dental.

Abstract
The periodontal ligament was either removed or not and the root surface of the incisor was treated with satured solution ofcalcium hydroxide. The root canal was filled with paste calcium hydroxide. The aim of this paper was to analyse the presence or absence of the non-vital periodontal ligament in dental reimplantation. Sixty days after reimplantation the authors observed, at the lingual side of the root active root resorption when the cementum periodontal ligament was not removed. The naked root induced replacement resorption and a rapid anquilosis. On the root surface, with or without cementum periodontalligamentand treated with satured solution of calcium hydroxide, it was not possible to block or decrease the inflammatory resorption, surface resorption and replacement resorption (ankylosis).
