Resumo
Foi estudada a freqüência de células que sinteiizam DNA na cómada basal do epitélio gengival da região do primeiro molar inferior de camundongos jovens e adultos. utilizando-se timidina triciada e técnica radioautográfica. Os valores obtidos através das proporções de células marcadas foram analisados e foi verificada diferença estatisticamente significante na freqüência de células marcadas entre as faces gengivais apenas nas fêmeas adultas. sendo maior o número na face lingual o qual ocorreu em função dos valores encontrados na inserção epitelial

Abstract
The frequency of DNA-sinthetizing cells in the basal layer of the gingival epithelium of the first lower molar region of young and adult mice of both sexes was studied using 3H-thymidine and radioautography. The frequency of labeled cells and their proportions were determined and the data statistically analysed. An inlfuence of the gingival side on the frequeney of labeled cells was found only in the epilhelial attachment of the adult female animals, in which the values were higher at the lingual face.
