Abstract

Dentin resistance to traction through pins screwed into it and occasional variations in behavior by using chelating agents with or without inactivation substances was studied in the present research. Using human teeth transversally cut at the cervicalline, standard holes were made in the dentinal tissue and pins were screwed into them. Results showed that the dentin offer a medium resistance to traction to 11.14 kgf which significantly varies by using EDTA with or without inactivating substances; such a variation was not observed when rc-prep was used.
