Resumo

A alveolite seca foi a perturbação produzida neste trabalho, onde foram utilizados 40 ratos albinos. A obtenção da alveolite foi conseguida com o implante de mechas de algodão embebidas em solução de adrenalina a 1:1000, para provocar a hemostasia; 48 horas depois foi identificada a alveolite. O grupo controle foi constituído por 20 animais, onde tão-somente se produziu a alveolite. O grupo tratado, com o mesmo número de animais, após a instalação da alveolite, recebeu curativo com Alveosan. A observação da cronologia do processo de reparo foi feita aos 3, 6, 9, 15 e 21 dias após a constatação do processo infeccioso, em ambos os grupos. A análise histológica evidenciou aspectos morfológicos que permitiram concluir que a pasta usada como curativo (Alveosan) mostrou-se efetiva no tratamento da alveolite e compatível com o processo de reparo, em feridas de extração dental.

Abstract

ln order to analyse the influence of Alveosan (Odonto Comercial Importadora Ltda.) on the treatment of provoked dry dental socket, 40 albino rats were utilized. After tooth extraction, the sockets were fulfilled with cotton embedded in adrenalin (1: 1000), to cause intra-alveolar hemostasys; 48 hours later alveolitis was diagnosed. Twenty animals with disturbed wound healing (dry socket) were selecled as controls whereas the other twenty rats were treated with Alveosan dressing. Four animals from each group were sacriliced at 3, 6, 9, 15, and 21 days alter the dry socket diagnosis. The histological examination showed that Alveosan dressing was effective in dry socket treatment and it was compatible with the wound healing after dental extraction.
