Resumo

Os autores estudam o processo de reparo de extração dental de ratos submetidos a administração de 35 mg/kg de peso de difenil-hidantoína sódica (EPELIN), via intraperitonial. Decorridos 3,6,9,12,18 e 21 dias após a exodontia, os animais foram sacrificados tendo sido as peças obtidas processadas rotineiramente para o estudo histológico, o qual revelou que nos animais injetados ocorreu intensa fibrogênese na fase inicial e intermediária do processo de reparo alveolar o retardo na deposição de matriz óssea, culminando com atraso na formação e mineralização das trabéculas ósseas, na fase final da reparação.

Abstract

The authors studied histologically the effect of sodium difenyl-hydantoinate on dental alveolar wound healing in rats. The drug administration was by intraperitoneal via and the animals were sacrificed at 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 and 21 days after exodonta. The pieces were got by dissection and processed by routine methods. The results showed a heavy fibrogenesis in the early and intermediary stage of the alveolar wound healing process an in the last stage, delay in the bone matrix deposition, trabeculae formation and mineralization.
