Resumo
O autor investigou o efeito de uma solução endurecedora sobre a expansão de presa de duas marcas comerciais de gesso pedra melhorado. Utilizando duas técnicas de manipulação (manual a céu aberto e mecânica a vácuo), concluiu que os líquidos usados na espatulação (água corrente e a solução Gipsumhardner) tiveram pronunciado efeito sobre a expansão de presa dos gessos estudados. Constatou que a solução endurecedora determinou uma expansão de presa menor do que a água.

Abstract
The author investigated the effect of a hardening solution on the setting expansion of two commercial brands of an improved stone gypsum. By using manual and mechanical manipulation techniques the author found that the solutions used in the mixing (Gypsum-hardner and tap water) showed a significant effect in the setting expansion of both stone gypsum used. According to the results it was possible to conclude that the gypsum-hardner solution induced a smaller setting expansion than the tap water.
