Abstract

This research was done in order to verify the action of X-rays on the development of 100th germs transplanted to the anterior chamber of the eye, after to be submitted to a singlr: dose of 100r of radiation. For this, female mice were killed 14,15 and 16 days after the appearance of the vaginal plug and one half of the fetuses constituded the control group and the other half the irradiated group. After an experimental period of 10 days, following the transplantation, the adult mice, used as hosts, were killed, the eyes dissected and processed for histological examination. The results did not show any effect of the radiation on the tooth germs once that the cellular differentiation and dental morphogenesis seem to occur normally.
