Abstract

Oncological pediatric patients, must be examined by a dentist as soon as its illness have been diagnosed, and the dental treatment must preferentially be initiated before the oncological treatment. The implementation of the treatment ought to contemplate all the odontological specialties, taking into consideration the clinical condition of the patient. This article’s main goal is, through literature revision, to argue about the protocol of odontological attendance of oncological pediatric patients, giving emphasis to preventive and/or curative measures of buccal adequacy in order to avoid further complications of this type of treatment and to the treatment of oral complications decurrent from antineoplasic therapy, as well as from general condition of these patients during and after such treatment.
