Abstract

A histological study of submandibular glands in benign and malignant renal hyperlensive rats Goldblatt one Kidney - one clip was made using an optical microscope. The results show in hypertensive animais an increase of blood vessels followed by hyperemia; a significant increase in number and diameter of ducts and an intensety colored cytoplasm. Comparing both hypertensive groups, the malignant renal hypertensive rats showed more evident morphological changes. The results of the present experiment suggest that hypertension induces an increase in the activity of submandibular glands.
