Abstract

Besides the relationship between the apical bases the ANB angle may express an index of the facial prognothism, which is also considered an ethnic characteristic. In this study the average of the ANB angle amplitude was verified in a sample of Brazilian youths with good occlusions and the results were compared to those from other populations, including primitive and pre-historic people. The average showed to be wever, the data obtained in several populations were extremely diversified, with no ordering other the age groups
